Peru Bug Editioned

At last my Peru Bug linocut has dried, and I have editioned them and they are now available for sale via Etsy & Folksy. Sometimes I think I should give water based inks a go; but when I have used them in the past I just don’t quite like the look of them compared to oil based inks. I love using oil based inks, I know they aren’t as environmentally friendly and there is the issue of drying time. If any of you can recommend some water based relief ink brands, that you think highly of, I will definitely try some of them out.

Giclée Prints – Alhambra Arches & Sing Red

Giclée from the French verb ‘gicler’  meaning ‘to squirt or to spurt’. A giclée print refers to a professionally printed inkjet print using archive quality light-fast colours (6 or more).

Giclée prints are a fantastic way for artists to reproduce original artwork such as paintings, illustrations and drawings professionally and to museum quality.

I now have giclée prints available to buy online too, of the two below illustrations. ‘Alhambra Arches’ is a drawing of interior courtyard arches at the Alhambra Palace at sunset, executed in pen, oil pastel, and drawing ink. The arches glowed golden as the sun went down, the sky turning pink.

‘Sing Red’ is a collage of leaves using various decorative papers, pen, drawing ink, watercolour pencil and graphite pencil. I am constantly surprised by the variety of form, shape, colour of leaf; in repetition to form beautiful structures of canopy and foliage.

Both these prints are available to buy via my Folksy and Etsy shops.

Hi all, just listed these cheerful sketchbooks on Folksy; perfect for doodles, scribbles, happy accidents and those eureka moments. I have sewn the books using a chain stitch that ensures that the sketchbook opens completely flat. The sketchbooks are perfect to pop in a handbag or large pocket.
