I have been having a holiday in London this past week which is great, as it meant I could finally get around to doing all the things I want to do in London but never have time for, one of which was visiting the Horniman Museum. The Horniman has very interesting collections: a dedicated African gallery of art and culture; a Centenary gallery containing over 1000 cultural artefacts; musical instruments from around the world; a natural history exhibit including skeletons, taxidermy, and fossils; a changing exhibition programme; an aquarium and gardens. What more could you want? It’s a treasure trove.
Here are a couple of drawings of carved shell objects seen in the Centenary gallery.
